Twin&Earth become a Design for Performance Delivery Partner

Twin&Earth are delighted to become a Delivery Partner for the Better Building Partnership’s Design for Performance initiative which will help to deliver a step change in the reduction in energy use of commercial buildings across the UK.

Design for Performance (DfP) is an industry-funded and backed initiative, established to tackle the performance gap and create a building-rating scheme based on measurable performance outcomes. The project looks to emulate the NABERS Energy Rating scheme that has transformed the prime office sector in Australia. The scheme aims to change the way we design new commercial office developments in the UK and by setting targets for actual/measured performance outcomes, using a process which commits a signatory from the outset to achieving a specific base building energy rating, verified by measurement.

Fundamental to the process is a requirement to undertake detailed energy simulation including modelling of a building’s HVAC system and controls to predict the actual base building energy use and establish measurable monthly energy targets.

Twin&Earth are well place to support the initiative through our knowledge of advanced energy modelling and assessment of in-use energy performance of buildings. To find out more about how we can help you deliver better performing buildings, please contact us at info@twinearth.co.uk
